The Extra Tree Maze

Run time: 10.30 – 17.00

Trees aren’t just the plants you find in outside spaces. In the world of data science, they have a very important function, helping us to map out multiple different possibilities and aiding us in making decisions around multiple topics.

Miriam Koschate-Reis from the University of Exeter’s Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence has constructed a physical representation of a decision tree for you to have a play with.

Join her and challenge yourself to make decisions about a case of a patient with potential Alzheimer’s disease. Be guided through our Extra Tree Maze by the information it provides and explore how mathematical models can be used in healthcare to make meaningful predictions in medicine, security, and many other application areas.

Please note that this event will include discussion of dementia.
