Re-thinking our Universe

Run time: 15.00 – 16.00

Throughout history, the Universe has turned our grandest thoughts upside down. We know that our cosmos is dark, with decades of evidence that the stars we can see are only a small fraction of what’s out there. Our Universe is dominated by dark matter, yet dark matter itself is invisible. So how do we study it?

In her Physical sciences and Mathematics Award Lecture, Alexandra Amon from the University of Cambridge is gearing up to investigate a whopping billion galaxies to find the answer and ultimately, re-think our Universe.
