Preserving culture

Run time: 13.30 – 14.30

Cultural heritage artifacts can teach us a lot about history and how societies and cultures are formed and maintained. They are an important way of preserving traditions and customs. However, there are many things that might risk the preservation of artifacts and consequently the stories that they hold.

Join Sada Mire, from University College London, to understand the role of cultural heritage in national identity, particularly regarding Somalia and Somaliland. By sharing stories and objects, she’ll provide insight into how we can sustainably manage and develop Cultural Heritage and its role in fostering resilient societies in the Horn of Africa and elsewhere.
