Our relationships and us in a cultural context

Run time: 15.30 – 16.30

Every day we socialise, hold conversations with and connect to people from different social classes, genders, religions, and other backgrounds to ourselves. Our cultural backgrounds can shape these interactions and how we understand our own and others’ beliefs, emotions, and behaviours.

Ayşe K. Üskül from the University of Sussex is an expert in understanding the role of our cultural background in our psychological make-up. Join her as she explores the role of cultural meanings, practices, and societal institutions in how we make sense of ourselves and our interactions with others.
