Mind Uploading: Science fiction or just science?

Run time: 11.00 – 12.00

Could our minds live on after we die? This seems like the plot of a film but could be possible using a concept called Mind Uploading. The process uses brain scans to reproduce or ‘emulate’ your mind digitally. From these scans, researchers are learning how to build a whole brain simulation on a supercomputer, taking us to alternate worlds and existences.

Angela Thornton, from the University of Nottingham, wants to hear your opinions on this technology and consider what this might mean for the future of humanity. Join her for the Digital Innovation Award Lecture to share your thoughts.

Please note that this event will include discussion of death.
