Nearly 50 years ago, Voyager 1 launched into space carrying the Golden Record. This 12-inch, gold-plated copper phonograph contains sounds and images chosen to reflect life on our planet.
Voyager 1 crossed into interstellar space in 2012 and continues to explore the solar system, with the Golden Record still on board in case there’s anybody out there.

The University of Liverpool’s Literature and Science Hub invite you to design your own Golden Record. What will you share about who we are and what we care about?
You can also explore a display of magazines, books and other paraphernalia from the University’s science fiction archives.
