The whispers of rock: Stories from the earth

Run time: 14.00 – 15.00

Whether it’s the sacred stones of Stonehenge or the rose-red city of Petra in Jordan, a towering mountain or a grain of sand, rocks are woven into the fabric of our lives and societies.

Join earth scientist Anjana Khatwa to dig into how rocks have been shaped over the eons – and how they’ve shaped us.

Bringing together modern science and ancient lore, Anjana invites you on an exhilarating journey through deep time.

You'll be taken on a journey through the bursting volcanoes of the Andes and the wonders of the Dorset coast, honouring the Indigenous stories that have brought the land to life across the millennia.

Anjana will share how geology – and connecting with the earth’s oldest stories – has guided her through the toughest times.

Rock is often seen as inert and unfeeling. Anjana will convince you it’s anything but.
