Peak performance: 50 years of sport science

The last 50 years has seen incredible innovations and advancements in sport science. The developments have has a profound impact on elite sport performance, athlete wellbeing, and public health. 
Join a panel led by Graeme Close with academic leaders Martin Littlewood and Rebecca Murphy (Liverpool John Moores University), Liverpool FC's Head Performance Psychology Consultant Lee Richardson and Everton FC's Senior Sports Scientist David Flower to discuss the science behind success at the highest level. 
Drawing on their experience as former athletes and extensive professional experience in the field, the panellists will delve into key developments in nutrition, psychology, injury prevention, and performance analytics. They will explore how these innovations have pushed the boundaries of human potential.
The panel will also celebrate 50 years of sport science at Liverpool John Moores University, home to the first single honours BSc Sport Science course in the world, and inspired by PhD research of the late Professor Tom Reilly.
