Run

September: 11.30 – 17.00
“Is the
Tooth Fairy real?"
Marvel at
the translucent beauty of Palaces, a crystal resin sculpture embedded with
hundreds of milk teeth donated by children across the UK.
Liverpool-based
artist Gina Czarnecki began this unique project after her seven-year-old
daughter asked: “Just tell me the truth: is the tooth fairy real?"
Palaces
interweaves science and magic, possibilities and potentials, fact and fictions
to explore the deeper symbolism of teeth. Through this work, Gina investigates
the association of teeth with growth and progress, loss of innocence and
maturity and of the altruistic donation of body parts.
This event
is part of the Museum of Liverpool takeover, a day of free talks, workshops and
activities across the museum. Join us on Sunday 14 September 10.30-17.00.
