Nightjar: Making the heath a home

The Nightjar is a mysterious nocturnal bird that migrates to UK land from Africa for breeding in late Spring.
Step into the life of the Nightjar with rangers from the New Forest National Park. Discover tools and techniques used to understand and support the Nightjar’s habitat – the heathlands. This warm and dry habitat, buzzing with insects, is the perfect spot for these birds to flourish, but for how long? Explore the threats the heaths are under and how the Nightjar’s habitat is being lost to human activity.
