Neuro-sery rhymes

Run time: 13:00 – 14:00
Ever wondered what’s going on inside a baby’s head? Well, we might be closer to understanding.
Liam Collins-Jones from the University of Cambridge is developing and testing new technology that can uncover the inner workings of an infant’s brain.

By playing them nursery rhymes and shining harmless light waves into the baby’s head, he’s able to stimulate and measure brain activity across the entire surface.

Understanding this activity allows him to see how different parts of the brain work together. Information like this could be key to better understanding brain development, shedding light on neurodivergent brains and babies born deaf. Join him to find out more.
