Liverpool’s party people
Run time: 18.00 – 21.30
What makes a big night out buzz?
Investigate the science of going out – from getting ready to the after party – and test yourself with interactive challenges and puzzles.
Meet researchers from the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (University of Liverpool) to chat through the highs and lows of partying.
We’ll dive into things like how the brain reacts to music and how the body responds to recreational and prescription drugs. We’ll follow chemicals as they move around our bodies, cause a response, then leave.
Please note that this event will involve discussions of drink spiking, prescription drugs, illicit substances and sexually transmitted diseases including HIV and Hepatitis. There will be flashing lights and music.
This event is part of the British Science Festival takeover of Quirky Quarter, an evening of activities and performances that will encourage you to see the world from a whole new perspective! Book your free entry to Quirky Quarter here
