Liverpool’s hidden superstar: Telescope mural

Run time: All day

Have you seen it? At 9 metres tall the Liverpool Telescope is the world’s largest robotic telescope. But have you seen it? Where could we hide something so big? Well, optical telescopes don’t work so well in cloudy cities, so we built it here and shipped it to the Canary Islands where, high above the clouds, the sky is clear.

To celebrate our city’s scientific excellence, we've created to scale mural of our telescope. Visit the mural on the Roxy Ball Room Liverpool, College Lane, to learn more about the Liverpool Telescope which has ignited passion and inspired brilliance right here on your doorstep.
