Deepfakes, identity, and bioethics

Run time: 13.30 – 14.30
Explore identity, science ethics, deepfakes and biological possibilities in this artist-led talk and panel discussion.

Chaired by artist Anna Dumitriu, the panel will bring together Liverpool-based artist Gina Czarnecki, clinical engineer John Hunt (University of Liverpool) and forensic anthropologist Caroline Wilkinson (Liverpool John Moores University).

Gina’s work explores the connections between medicine, myth, history and ethics. She uses portraiture, biomaterials, craft techniques and 3D scanning to explore new frontiers in genetic research and stem cell biology.

The discussion will focus on new technologies and what consent means in the context of medicine and biotechnology.
Please note that this event will explore themes around bioethics and consent.
