City greens

Run time: 12.00 – 17.00

From peas in the park to radishes on rooftops – our towns and cities are packed with places where we could sustainably grow fresh food.

Researchers from Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool will dig into the science of urban food growing.

Join them for an interactive journey through the urban food system and unearth the benefits for people and planet! Discover the secrets of vertical farming, the power of worms and the science of plant pigmentation and photosynthesis.

Learn how these processes can inspire sustainable farming practices and create your own leaf print to take home.

Please note, this venue for this event is on flat level but has uneven gravel surfaces. This makes the space difficult to navigate by wheelchair.
