Archive adventures: Creative writing workshop

Run time: 13.00 – 14.00

Searching for inspiration for your next piece of writing? Want to explore ideas about science from the past?

Take part in a creative writing workshop that will reveal how scientific archives could inspire your work. Gain the confidence and skills you need to jump right in!

Writer Clodagh Chapman will talk about how scientific archives can be places of unexpected discovery, for writers and scientists alike.

Clodagh will share practical advice about how to use them and explain how she researched her forthcoming play, ‘Sink’, which draws on historical weather diaries.

Explore some archival materials, then have a go at writing something inspired by what you find. Share your work with the group and leave with an expanded toolkit of writing techniques.
