To vape or not to vape?

Run time: 10:30 – 17:00
In the past decade, many smokers have made the switch from tobacco cigarettes to electronic cigarettes in the hope of finding a healthier alternative. However, there’s little public knowledge about what’s in them, or the potential damage they may cause.
All forms of smoking can have lasting effects on cells of the heart and lungs, impacting how they grow, develop, and function. Understanding these impacts is central to the work of Mohammed Meah and his team from the University of East London.
Discover first-hand the differences between types of smoke, and how these can damage types of cells in the heart. Explore the techniques and types of markers that researchers can use to observe and track the harm being caused by different modes of smoke.
