The hidden universe

15 September 2022 - 18:00

Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester

This is a drop-in event, running from 18.00-22.00.

The most advanced space telescope ever constructed, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), was launched on Christmas Day 2021. Unveiling images not visible to the human eye, it provides a completely new view of the Universe. By using infrared imaging, which picks up heat rather than light, it heralds a new era in astronomy.

See through the eyes of the JWST with this immersive, drop-in activity. Look deep into space clouds where stars and planets are forming, and uncover how weather, chemistry, and climate shape the atmospheres of giant planets.

This drop-in activity is part of our Leicester Museum and Art Gallery Takeover event.
