Sonic spider

Run time: 11:30 – 17:00

Ever heard a spider sing? Well, now’s your chance. Listen to the world’s first eight-legged musical instrument and be transported into a spider’s world by this arachnid assembly.

Step inside the spider’s web, and adopt the role of a tasty fly, or perhaps a nervous suitor. Explore spider senses by playing the instrument yourself and enjoy the accompanying showcase of animal senses and awareness.
Join composer/musician Camilla Saunders, musician/designer Charlie Beresford, science researcher/ journalist Alun Anderson, who’ll show you how to pluck, bow and strike each two-metre-long steel leg to surround yourself in a cacophony of noise like you’ve never heard before.
