Reimagining mental health
14 September 2022 - 13:00
Queen's Building, Lecture Theatre 1.10, De Montfort University

Event duration: 60 minutes
Mental health is a global concern and continues to grow in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Managing these conditions often relies on talking therapy or prescriptions, but for many this isn’t working.
Raghu Raghavan of De Montfort University, has been working with communities in India running the MeHeLP India project. Through this they test out new ways of managing mental health conditions, using arts-based activities to host conversations about individual experiences.
Together they have explored more holistic approaches, recognising that we shouldn’t discount the current clinical approaches, but need to embrace treatment in conjunction with psychology, faith and spirituality.
Please note this event includes discussion of amputation.
