Presidential Address: Anne-Marie Imafidon

16 September 2022 - 15:00

The [email protected], De Montfort University

Event duration: 60 minutes

Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE has been at the forefront of advocating for more girls and non-binary young people to participate in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for almost a decade, since co-founding social enterprise, Stemettes, in 2013.

In this fireside chat, the incoming President of the British Science Association will reflect on issues of equity in STEM; looking back at her own journey, her achievements with Stemettes, and at the barriers that still remain for young people from underrepresented backgrounds today.

Anne-Marie will also discuss themes from her forthcoming book, She's In CTRL: How women can take back tech, addressing the role of the individual in pushing for positive changes in the technology that permeates our day-to-day lives.
