Nature vs nurture

Run time: 11:00 – 12:00

The debate as to what affects your life outcomes – your genes or the environment – is one of the oldest in science. With growing collections of molecular genetic data incorporated into new and existing economics and social science datasets, we can directly investigate this.

Join Stephanie von Hinke from the University of Bristol for the Presidential Address for Economics where she’ll take us on a journey into these data, uncovering how it can help us gain a better understanding of what shapes our life chances.
