The Metabolism of the Earth
17 September 2022 - 11:00
Highcross Leicester, Lower East Mall opposite Footlocker

Event duration: 60 minutes
Much like our bodies, there is only a finite amount of energy available on our planet. So how much of that energy runs through humanity compared to through the natural world?
In this Presidential Address for the Geography section, Yadvinder Malhi of the University of Oxford will explore the history of humanity on Earth. Find out how our growing population puts a strain on the demand for energy, and discover a fresh perspective on the challenge of finding sustainable ways of living for the 21st century.
This talk is part of our Saturday City Centre takeover.
