Huxley debate: smart cities, smarter decisions?

Thursday, September 12 • 15:00 - 16:00

The urban dream of a ‘smart’ city is slowly becoming a reality, thanks to advances in technologies such as the Internet of Things, 5G and artificial intelligence. But do these technologies always make smarter decisions?

As cities like Coventry trial driverless vehicles and smart bins, David Sanchez (Jaguar Land Rover), Ellie Cosgrave (University College London), Stephen Jarvis (University of Warwick), Immy Kaur (Impact Hub Birmingham) and Stephanie Hare (researcher and broadcaster) discuss the benefits for residents as well as the risks of relying on new digital technologies. Chaired by ITV Central’s Balvinder Sidhu.

This event is supported by Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
