Geek girl gamers
Friday, September 13 • 14:00 - 15:00
Join the self-confessed ‘geek girl’ and Lecturer in Higher Education at the University of Surrey, Anesa Hosein, who wants to see more woman in science.
She discovered that compared to non-gamers, 13-14-year-old girls classed as ‘heavy-gamers’ – those playing over 9 hours a week – are three times more likely to pursue physical science, technology, engineering or maths degrees.
How can we encourage these young woman to consider science careers and also create role models for them?
