Disrupting the digital discourse

Run time: 11:30 – 17:00
Our lives have become increasingly digital. The way we connect, express ourselves and build understanding of the world can often happen online and through social media. However, human communication, including information like gestures and intonation of voice, are lost in the digital sphere.
Because of this, it’s easy to misinterpret the comments we receive online. Likewise, these comments have great power in shaping people’s beliefs, allegiances and understanding of reality.
Ziran Tang from the University of East London has been researching how these comments impact people and their communities. Join her to experience the resultant performance and interactive exhibition that uncovers the power of comments in shaping the online discourse.
