Diamonds are for everything

Friday, September 13 • 14:00 - 15:00

Until recently, it took millions of years for diamonds to form deep under-ground, but now, thanks to research from the University of Warwick they can be made quickly, and cheaply, in a lab. This led to a massive expansion in the ways that diamonds can be used; from waste water treatment to quantum physics.

Julie Macpherson and Mark Newton consider the role diamond technologies are playing in the 21st century, and how they are so much more than just expensive gemstones.
