Diabetes, the silent pandemic
15 September 2022 - 15:00
Vijay Patel Building, Lecture Theatre 4.05, De Montfort Uni

Event duration: 60 minutes
Diabetes is having a huge impact on people’s health. Worldwide in 2019, 351 million people of working age had diabetes; this number is expected to rise to over 417 million by 2030.
A large part of the growing issue is a lack of awareness about what causes it, how to manage it, and what support is out there to help with both these things.
Randolph Arroo and Ketan Ruparelia from De Montfort University will bring together a panel of experts and people with lived experience of diabetes to discuss how they’re managing the condition and the new research that is tackling this silent pandemic.
