Creating better catalysts

15 September 2022 - 11:00

Highcross Leicester, East Square on Lower Level, Leicester

This exhibition will be available to visit between 09:30-18:00 on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 September.

Oil-based products are all around us, all day, everyday. From fuel in cars and planes to the vital chemical ingredients which give us thousands of familiar consumer items. For a greener future, new sources of these life-enhancing energy sources and materials must be found.

Find out how Loughborough scientists are transforming biomass into fuel and many everyday items without costing the Earth with the help of special new catalysts. From woodchip to liquid fuel, corn husk to shampoo, algae to trainers and even ice-cream to bio-plastic fabrics, a sustainable future is possible when you delve down to the atomic level.
