Children under arrest

13 September 2022 - 14:00

Vijay Patel Building, Fletcher Hub 4.09, De Montfort University

Event duration: 60 minutes

Ever wondered what age you can be arrested for a criminal offence? It's probably much younger than you think.

Many of us consider the criminal justice system to be something that protects us, but for children it can have the opposite effect.

Join Ross Little from De Montfort University as he reflects on how we respond to children's law breaking.

He'll challenge you to think about some of the contemporary issues that shape these responses, exploring failures of the state and the need for bolder politicians who'll confront matters at play in the youth justice sector.
