The [email protected], De Montfort University

Event duration: 60 minutes
This year sees the bicentenary of Gregor Mendel, the parent of modern genetics. To mark the occasion, popular science presenter and author Adam Rutherford will take you on a journey into Gregor Mendel's research, tracking the influence it's had on modern genetics research over the past two centuries.
From the modern synthesis of evolutionary and synthetic biology, to the genetics of race, this talk will explore the history of the study of genetics, unpicking its applications (and misuses) along the way.
